Pro-ecological action related to the use of FuelCal® technology
FuelCal® technology, within which OrCal® and OrCal® pHregulator® series products are created, is a patented, safe and environmentally friendly solution. Its pro-ecological effect concerns both technological processes, environmental impact around the production plant, and the resulting products from the OrCal® series.
FuelCal® – harmony with nature
FuelCal® technology is a laureate of the Green Technology Accelerator – a project of the Ministry of the Environment aimed at the international transfer of technologies supporting environmental protection and economic development.
Waste transformed into a natural agricultural product: OrCal®
By using FuelCal® we reduce the occurrence of waste in the natural environment and process it into the renowned OrCal® product for agriculture, which has soil healing properties.
Safety – elimination of pathogens during the production process
The reactors that are the heart of the FuelCal® technology use four methods of biomass hygienization. Hygienization and sterilization are carried out:
- using hot, gaseous ammonia generated during the alkaline decomposition of proteins;
- using a temperature maintained at 60°C-140°C;
- using a solution of milk of lime present during the mixing of waste masses with the WapCal® reagent;
- using a high pH, above 12.
Thanks to this, the resulting product is safe – free from dangerous pathogens, bacteria or spore forms.
Energy saving – exothermic reaction
An exothermic chemical reaction takes place in the reactor, which does not require external heat supply. The entire process is fully automated and during its duration there are no emissions of malodorous substances or hazardous compounds, such as sulfur compounds, dioxins or nitrogen oxides, which are typical for high-temperature processing technologies.
Reduction of emissions, recovery of macro- and micro-nutrients
During the entire process, the central condensate neutralization system eliminates all emissions, recovers the micro- and macroelements contained in them, and guarantees the safety of the entire process of processing biomass into OrCal® and OrCal® pHregulator® series products.
Elimination of heavy metals in the substrate and finished product
Heavy metals contained in substrates used for the production of fertilizers are reduced during the processes to so-called residual forms, sparingly soluble, which do not migrate and are not taken up by plants. In terms of heavy metal content, OrCal® products more than meet the rigorous standards of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, e.g. in the case of lead, the standard is 140 mg/kg, and the content of this metal in OrCal® products is on average about 9.5 mg/kg of the soil quality improving agent. This is less than 10% of the standard.
OrCal® Products – Healing the Soil
The resultant products of FuelCal® technology are fertilizers and soil improvers valued by farmers. They work comprehensively, and through their unique features they also improve the economics of farming, e.g. by limiting the use of expensive mineral fertilization.

We are healing Polish soil – a pro-ecological program!
As part of Evergreen Solutions’ cooperation with the National Key Cluster Green Chemistry, a pro-ecological program Healthy Polish Soil is being created, the aim of which is to heal Polish soils through the use of OrCal® products. The concentration of activities in this area is located in Podkarpacie, where acidification and soil degradation is the highest in the country.
