EU guidelines and Polish legislation
EU and national legislation imposes new restrictions and guidelines on waste producers. Those responsible for waste policy in companies struggle with a number of problems that they must overcome. Additionally, there are high costs associated with waste disposal. The FuelCal® Technology solves the waste problem in the company and also allows the waste producer to generate additional revenues through the sale of OrCal® products.
National and EU legislation has created a legal environment that supports the development of new, environmentally friendly technologies such as FuelCal®:
The Waste Act of 27 April 2001, in Chapter 2, requires that anyone who undertakes activities that cause the generation of waste should conduct such activities in such a way as to prevent the generation of waste or limit the amount of waste, preferably immediately at the place of processing.
In the area of some waste groups, the scope of conditions and requirements is greater, e.g. in the case of management of animal by-products using the FuelCal® method, the rules for handling category two and three materials are established by the district veterinarian based on EC Regulation 10.69. That way, we have full control over the production process in terms of safety and compliance with regulations..
We offer FuelCal® processing lines installed as an extension of the plant’s production line, which immediately and in accordance with applicable veterinary and environmental protection regulations process animal by-products (ABPs) into the hygienized organic-mineral soil improver OrCal®.
If you are responsible for waste policy in your company or municipality and you are struggling with the problems listed below – be sure to explore how FuelCal® Technology can solve them. FuelCal® Technology and Sewage Sludge – Legal Conditions
Evergreen Solutions has successfully implemented several FuelCal® installations in sewage treatment plants across Poland . The installation complements the existing sewage treatment process in the treatment plant. Its task is to complete the sewage treatment process. In the sphere of legal regulations concerning sludge recycling, the FuelCal® line is to meet the requirements of Article 14 of the Sewage Directive 91/271/EEC “sludge generated as a result of the sewage treatment process shall be reused whenever appropriate. The methods of using sludge should minimise the adverse effects on the environment”. The technology also meets the provisions of Directive 86/278/EEC on the protection of the environment, and in particular of the soil, when using sewage sludge in agriculture, the aim of which is to establish conditions and promote the use of sewage sludge in agriculture in such a way as to prevent harmful effects on soil, vegetation and humans. The technology fully meets the provisions of the Act of 14 December 2012 on waste, Article 17 and Article 18, and the Act of 27 April 2001 – Environmental Protection Law.
